The summer program at Atlanta Montessori International School is 8 weeks of fun and learning for students who have a wide range of interests. Browse our schedule of programs here and reserve your spot today.
We offer full day camps for children from 3 years old to 13 years old in arts, humanities, sciences, and more! Camps are from 8:30 AM until 3:00 PM, with before and after care options provided from 7:30 AM through 6:00 PM.

Pull-Out Camps (Available to Enrolled Campers)
Yoga
Awilda Rivera, the AMIS extracurricular yoga instructor, will be offering camp over the course of three weeks, June 11th-June 29th (Weeks Two through Four). The camp is an add-on to the day’s curriculum, meeting on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 PM-4:15 PM.

Art at Home
Art at Home will be offering an expanded day option during Weeks One, Four and Six. Camp will take place from 3:30 PM-4:30 PM all five days, with a different camp available each week. Registration is currently open online, or you can return a hard copy of the form to AMIS.

Dance and Gymnastics
Gilda Thomas, who currently serves as the AMIS after-school dance and gymnastics instructor, will offer camp July 3rd and 5th (Week Five), as well as the 17th and the 19th (Week Seven).

Primary Themes
Oceania
Campers will explore the watery depths of our world through books and crafts. Focus will be on the harmony and interdependency found among ocean creatures, as well as in our camp.
Karl Drake Irish Dancing
Led by Karl Drake, with over 20 years of experience, campers will learn the basics of Irish dancing from a true master. Don’t miss this opportunity for exposure to an intricate art form with roots going back over 2,000 years.
Lollapalooza
When given a variety of loose materials, what will you create? In this freeform camp, campers exercise their creative visions with access to everything from bottle tops to golf balls. Get ready to make things that exist only in this single sliver of space and time.
Art
Each camper will have the opportunity to strengthen their skills using art and imagery. Self-driven studio practice offers children art as a language they can use to understand the world around them.
Peaceful Education
Montessori-trained guide will lead this camp, which includes structured work cycles and a focus on self-sufficiency and independence.
Spanish Immersion
Students will reinforce Spanish through games, songs, dance, and exploration of 4 Spanish speaking countries.
Cultural Study
Students will take a closer look at language, geography, cuisine, and more, using both English and Spanish.
Elementary Themes
Hiking
Campers will explore area parks for day hikes. Reflections and sketching will be encouraged. This camp will be predominantly an outdoor camp.
International Cooking
Campers will enjoy going off-site to purchase international ingredients. The best part is eating what you have prepared!
French Exploration
Students will learn about all things French in this exciting camp. Topics include the country’s language, cuisine, and culture.
Fairies and Power Tools
This camp will explore the mythology of fairies while celebrating girl power as we cut, sand, and drill fairy doors for trees in our gardens.
Drama
Drama is a wonderful tool to unlock your child’s imagination. The skills students develop will be useful to them in any situation.
Writing and Photography
Campers learn about grammar and creative writing, and will create a cut-and-paste magazine filled with student photography and features on local people.
Art
Each camper will have the opportunity to strengthen their skills using art and imagery. Self-driven studio practice offers children art as a language they can use to understand the world around them.
Mindfulness
This camp will offer a variety of mindfulness and breathing tools that will strengthen skills such as attention, focus, memory, thought organization, kindness, social problem solving, and self-regulation.
Gymnastics
This exciting camp will teach floor gymnastics skills like turns and leaps, jumps, cartwheels, round-offs, handstands with forward rolls, and balancing.
Spanish Immersion
Students will reinforce Spanish through games, songs, dance, and exploration of 4 Spanish speaking countries.
Cultural Study
Students will take a closer look at language, geography, cuisine, and more, using both English and Spanish.
Music
Inspired by different musical themes from around the world, students will sing and play to the rhythm of exotic melodies.
Primary STEM Camp
I Wanna Be…An Archaeologist!
Students learn about archaeological tools and identify optimal locations for digs. From artifacts left on land to historical treasures buried at sea, our mini-Archaeologists learn the hidden science behind this intriguing career.
I Wanna Be…A Marine Biologist!
From coral reefs to sharks that “sleep,” campers explore the unique, the strange, and the perplexing features of underwater life. Exciting projects include turtle shell backpacks and octopus sock puppets (socktopus!).
I Wanna Be…A Sports Scientist!
Campers will discover the scientific explanations behind athleticism and develop an appreciation for the science of sports. Projects range from determining the optimal ball trajectory to score a field goal in football to making a Q-Tip Skeleton.
I Wanna Be…A Techie!
Topics include coding, robotics, and electronics. Students study the anatomy of computers, code a caterpillar (yes!), and look into the future of technology. Projects include programming PCs using ScratchJr and building simple circuits.
Elementary STEM Camp
BioRobotics: Machines Among Us
This camp focuses on the hardware and coding that’s required to create machines that model living and breathing beings. Projects include mechanized contraptions ranging from robotic hands to real programmable robots using LEGO WeDo!
Engineering A Metropolis
Campers explore what it takes to create a metropolitan area by designing their own city! From street layouts to power source identification, campers learn about the challenges that architects and engineers face when building cities from scratch.
Coding + Gaming
Using MIT’s Scratch computer language, campers learn how to program their very own unique games and animations. Projects include a computer program uploaded to MIT’s website and an original board game.
Freaky Forces + Elusive Energies
From the magic of magnetism to the science of sound, campers explore a world filled with energies and forces! Projects such as lava lamps, clay boats, and catapults allow children to touch, feel, and see concepts that are the building blocks of physics.
